What I did to find the problem at first was blew in the return hose and didn’t hear any oil gurgling so from there connected an air regulator to an air supply then the regulator to the transmission return line, don’t use too much pressure otherwise the oil will blow out of the over flow use just enough to pressurize the hose, then listened around with my ear and use a spray bottle with soapy water to find the leak.
#Haas tip of the day crack
It was wired the crack was an intermitting problem the machine would run all day then alarm sometimes it would alarm just after powering the machine on in the morning while homing it. No vacuum could be made to suck up the transmission oil. The pump is making pressure on one side and vacuum on the other.Īfter further inspection of the return line it had a crack in it under the transmission. (The switch is a momentary type, normally open.) The pressure switch tested good and getting voltage at the switch. I hope this info might help others! I have the head disassembly procedures if anyone needs them email me at Put Haas Head in the subject so you don’t get spammed. Think the problem was found, won’t officially say so until the repairs are complete and the machine is making chips.

I’m not bashing Haas in anyway just wish more information was available. I’m not a Haas owner or operator as you can tell, I help work on them from time to time.

I Had the parts shipped overnight, FedEx was at the shop by 10:00AM and the machine running again by 11:00AM the next morning for 50 bucks and my time. I had a problem with the spindle drive traced it back to a blown transistor called Fanuc told them the part’s reference designator they asked me “how many do you need they can ship today”. Also Fanuc sells whole circuit board assemblies or just the electronic parts.
#Haas tip of the day plus
:-( Plus Fanuc has a refurbishing program, I was quoted $500.00 flat rate on a spindle drive re-build. I have a 1992 Kitamura M圜enter1 with Fanuc OMC controls, Kitamura and Fanuc both give you wire diagrams, descriptions on parameters, the NC has a ladder diagram, basically they give me all the information one would need to trouble shoot besides the schematics for the circuit boards, I tried they said no way.
#Haas tip of the day manual
Would anyone one at least have wiring diagrams to a 2010 VF6? Does Haas have a ladder diagram on the NC? Would the ladder show the pump motor details/circuit? If so would anyone have more information that way I can trace things back to the main board and check to see if things are in order there? I looked in the Haas manual didn’t see any such useful information. I restarted the machine and ran a spindle warm-up program without bypassing the pressure switch for an hour the pump motor was warm to the touch, nothing to be worried about and no alarms. After the alarm I by-passed the pressure switch the spindle ran and the machine did not alarm but the pump motor would not start. I replaced the whole pump assembly with a known good assembly the machine ran most of the day then alarmed out.
